Best Asphalt Diamond Blades
Soft bonded blades will not work on asphalt since it is softer than concrete or granite, and they will not produce clean cuts. Instead, a diamond blade with a firm bond is the finest instrument for cutting asphalt. This tougher blade cuts cleanly and releases grit quickly.
A special blade that is not the same as the one you would use to cut other surfaces like concrete, marble, or granite is required to cut asphalt. Asphalt requires a diamond blade with a firm bond since it is softer. The cutting of asphalt pavement is ineffective with other soft-bonded blades.
The correct way to cut asphalt will be with a circular saw with a diamond-tooth blade and the right venting system to effectively cut asphalt. The asphalt material can be removed from the teeth more easily, and the vents between each tooth also help to lower the temperature when cutting. Because working with masonry material can put a lot of stress on a saw's motor, utilize a worm drive instead of a normal saw when cutting masonry material with a circular saw.
The maximum depth of asphalt that can be cut with a standard circular saw and a diamond blade is around 4 inches (10 cm). Use the same method with a walk-behind circular saw for anything deeper. These diamond blades and saws are available for purchase at BladesDirect.Net.
