Construction Safety Reminders from Blades Direct

The unofficial launch of summer has begun, which means a lot of activity within the construction and contracting industries. A story from the Bay Area last week is a good reminder of the need to remain aware and to adhere to safety protocols while working. According to news reports, two construction workers plunged to their deaths while being hoisted up by a crane in a basket. OSHA is investigating and we have posted the full story below.
  Bay Area Construction Workers Die in Accident A bridge construction project in Yolo County is on hold after two workers for a Burlingame-based construction company fell about 100 feet to their deaths from a crane Friday morning, according to authorities. The accident happened just before 7 a.m. in the city of Winters. Urban search and rescue crews lowered a basket down into the construction site to retrieve the bodies of the two workers killed in the deadly fall. [READ MORE]
